Take the time to read through any "stories" that have been posted to help you get an idea of the theme of the game. Sometimes the stories also contain clues to plot lines and mysteries that you will be asked to solve.
On the night of the party you will be given a sealed character packet that will include secret information about you and other characters. Your Characters Background will have most of the information you will need to play your character. It will give you a very general background on your character.
Feel free to introduce new information or stories about your character, too.
The packet will also have goals that you need to complete, a nametag, money, and any other props your character may require.
Our games last about 5 to 6 hours.
The first hour is a "meet & greet" where you will have the opportunity to review your character packet and meet the other players before the game begins. After the hour, the Host will take ten minutes to briefly go over the rules, and then the game will start!
If, for some reason, you will NOT be able to attend the game after signing up for a character, CONTACT THE HOST IMMEDIATELY! Your character may have information vital to the solution of the mystery, in which case the Host will need to reassign your character.
Please remember that murder mystery games are just that - a game. People won't necessarily be behaving in ways you expect. They will be playing characters with their own secret backgrounds and agendas. Somebody will probably be working against you, others may have been told to snub you, or have been told lies about your character. Someone may seem to be really obnoxious and rude. Most likely this is the character they are playing and as such keep this in mind at all times. Don't take anything personally - it's just a game!
